Those who have been born again have a new nature which enables them to please God 2 Cor 5:17, (c.f. Rom 8:8). They delight in the law of God Rom 7:22.

However, the old nature is still within Rom 7:23-25. While God has made full provision for our victory over it, there will always be a continuing struggle with it Gal 5:16,17. We do not attain to perfection in this life Phil 3:12 1 John 1:8.

God in His grace has made provision for us when we stumble and fall into sin. If we truly belong to Him we will be miserable and wretched because of sin, and we will certainly not take the attitude “let us continue in sin that grace may abound.”

Our gracious God does not want us to stay long in despair and defeat because of our failures, but rather that we may promptly confess our sin and be restored to fellowship with Him, forget the things that are behind, "be found in Him" and press forward 1 John 1:9 Eph 6:14 Phil 3:9 Phil 3:12-14.
