Love the Truth

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

Gospel Words We Should Know
WRATH

WORKS

This is a general name for deeds and actions. However, in the context of salvation, it means any obedience to the law, performance, virtue, merit, or anything at all in us which we think we can present to God as a reason why He should forgive us and save us. In this sense all our "works" are totally unacceptable to God.

Salvation is by grace alone, and "grace" is the absolute antithesis of "works" Ephesians 2:8-10 Romans 3:20.

Good works are things done out of love and gratitude to God, without any thought of gaining merit or favour. John 3:21 Hebrews 9:14.
